About Me
Welcome and thank you for being here. I’m Simone Saunders, the founder of The Cognitive Corner. I created this space with the intention of amplifying and celebrating the diversity of our human experiences, and a community that is dedicated to creating safe environments to explore vulnerabilities. As someone who previously struggled to find a therapist that looked like me and make space for my identity as a Black woman - my goal has been to create a space that provides culturally responsive mental health care for all.
My Education & Practice
I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work, with a specialization in trauma and have been working in the field of mental health since 2016. I have a passion for individual and group therapy and truly believe that therapy can be beneficial for anyone, even if you are not in the midst of a crisis.
I work from a client-centered and trauma informed approach, and am able to connect both, with those who are eager to begin counselling, as well as those that may be hesitant. It is my job to hold space for whatever you bring into the room - be that anxiety, trauma, happiness, depression, excitement, grief, or otherwise. I dedicate time in order to build a safe and trusting relationship with those that I work with in order to facilitate the healing process, and help explore the most vulnerable parts of self.
Simone is culturally responsive, LGBTQIA2S+ affirmative and is not accepting new clients
